The Final Pulse
Reven
This build is my take on a severely damaged Nu Gundam, captured in its final moment of resistance. I wanted to express the feeling of a mobile suit falling apart mid-flight, still clinging to life, with its core flickering like a final pulse.
Using parts from the Nu Gundam kit, I recreated shattered armor and exposed internals. The limbs were broken apart and suspended with steel wires to convey a sense of violent disintegration and motion. Each floating fragment was carefully placed to create a chaotic composition.
The base was carved from blue styrofoam and textured with Mod Podge and acrylic paint to resemble a war-torn diorama. A red "A" frame was added as a tribute to Amuro, grounding the scene both visually and symbolically. Scattered debris, like a broken shield and discarded weapons, adds to the narrative of a final, desperate stand.
I kept the color palette in cold tones to emphasize the bleakness of the moment. Weathering, battle damage, and wear were added using pre-shading, dry brushing, oils, and pastels to give the entire piece a gritty, worn feel.
At its core, this piece is a tribute to Nu Gundam, not just its power, but also the fragility and humanity behind the machine. It's a visual story of resistance, sacrifice, and the final pulse before everything fades.
